This permanent role involves leading a high-impact team working on advanced quantum computing and photonic systems, particularly focusing on the design of ion-traps and performance benchmarking of quantum networking protocols. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical leadership, team development, system-level thinking, coordination with experimental teams, and contributing to strategic decisions that shape the future of quantum technologies. You will draw on your postgraduate experience in AMO physics and hands-on expertise with simulation tools like Comsol, ANSYS, QutiP, Mathematica, or MATLAB, as well as knowledge in qubit control, optical systems, and electronics. The role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage cross-disciplinary workflows. Additional desirable skills include familiarity with Quantum Error Correction and ion-trap design.
