Mistral AI is seeking Applied Scientist and Research Engineer interns to drive innovative research and collaborate on complex projects, developing state-of-the-art AI models across text, image, and speech modalities. Interns will run pre-training and post-training on large GPU clusters, generate and curate data, develop tools and frameworks for model training, evaluation, and deployment, and work cross-functionally with internal and external teams to tackle complex use cases such as agents and RAG pipelines. The role requires fluency in English, expertise in PyTorch or JAX, the ability to write clean, high-performance, fault-tolerant Python code, a low-ego collaborative mindset, and self-driven initiative. Ideal candidates are pursuing a PhD or master’s in a relevant field, have research experience in multi-modality, robotics, diffusion models, or time-series analysis, can contribute to large codebases, and have a track record of publications in top academic venues.
