Orbex is seeking a skilled and experienced Avionics AIT Engineer with strong expertise in electrical design to support Assembly, Integration, Testing and Validation (AIT/V) activities for avionics systems. The role involves designing and integrating data acquisition systems, selecting instrumentation, and developing Electrical-Ground Support Equipment (E-GSE), as well as working with PLCs for control systems and executing meticulous testing, validation and acceptance on launchers and related systems. The engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to specify interfaces and integrate instrumentation effectively, optimize testing processes to deliver accurate results, assist in the design and implementation of ATEX systems to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and support adherence to IPC/WHMA-A-620/ECSS-Q-ST quality standards in harnessing and avionics integration. Candidates should have an educational background in Electrical Engineering, Avionics, Aerospace or a related field with proven experience in data logging, instrumentation selection, data acquisition system design, PLC programming and configuration, and AIT/V activities on launchers or equivalent systems such as missiles, submarines or ROVs, with desirable experience in ATEX system design, hands-on avionics testing and SolidWorks Electrical.
