In this role, you will play a vital part in contributing to the design, implementation, and improvement of the data pipelines for complex datasets, particularly focusing on census and international data. You will create and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform data from various sources, ensuring the quality, accuracy, and consistency of the data and metadata. This includes working with large and complex datasets, ensuring data governance policies are implemented, and data quality standards are maintained. You will also contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of data platforms, leveraging cloud computing platforms like AWS or Azure. Furthermore, you will work on the development of user-friendly extensions to enhance the usability of tools related to census and international data, provide support, advice, and guidance to users of the UK Data Service, and maintain all relevant documentation. The role requires proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL, as well as experience with ETL tools and cloud platforms. Ideal candidates will have strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and experience with data governance, data integration, and platform development.
