Nu Quantum is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join their Cambridge-based team to support DevOps and IT infrastructure for a quantum computing scale-out initiative. The successful candidate will work across FPGA design, software development, optics, and mechanical engineering teams, implementing CI/CD and hardware-in-the-loop testing, providing tooling support, and building automation pipelines. Responsibilities include administering the Linux HPC cluster, optimizing HPC usage and AWS overflow capacity, developing monitoring, logging, and alerting systems, maintaining backup and disaster recovery procedures, and defining best practices while training others. The role requires proficiency in Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP, DNS, networking, hypervisors like Windows Hyper-V and Proxmox VE, Python and Bash scripting, automation tools like Ansible, containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, or Apptainer, and monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana. Desirable skills include knowledge of Cyber Essentials, real-time database architectures, and backup procedures.
