Tracer Cloud Inc, a cutting-edge technology startup based in London, is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Founding Senior Engineer to join their core engineering team. With a mission to accelerate scientific breakthroughs—such as drug discovery—by resolving critical inefficiencies in bioinformatics pipelines, Tracer is building an advanced observability platform tailored for high-performance computing environments. This full-time, on-site role offers a competitive compensation package ranging from £75K to £110K along with 0.5% to 1.2% equity in the company. Tracer is backed by $3M in venture funding and offers UK visa sponsorship to exceptional candidates. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical foundation of the platform, contributing to the design, architecture, and development of key features, including Rust-based clients for data ingestion, logs management systems, observability dashboards, and automated error resolution tools. This position demands strong low-level programming expertise—preferably in Rust, C, or equivalent languages—as well as familiarity with cloud infrastructure, high-performance data engineering, and tools like AWS, Terraform, eBPF, and dynamic library rewriting. Candidates should possess a minimum of 3 years’ experience building complex, scalable software systems and demonstrate a solid track record of shipping production-ready code in fast-paced environments. A product-oriented mindset, adaptability, and an eagerness to tackle unsolved technical challenges are crucial. Experience with open-source architecture, cloud deployment, and startup culture will be considered strong assets.
