The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of automotive emissions, simulation tools, and regulatory compliance requirements, with a focus on gasoline engine emissions. This role requires developing and applying simulation models to analyze, predict, and optimize emissions, ensuring compliance with environmental standards, and improving engine performance. You will be responsible for designing and developing propulsion systems and capabilities at the system engineering level, focusing on both logical and physical solution domains. Your key responsibilities will include building and owning system artifacts for both new and existing powertrain propulsion concepts in the Diesel and Gasoline space, ensuring they are legally compliant, meet customer expectations, and are competitive in the market. These system artifacts include customer requirements mapping, feature/capability definitions, use case analysis, logical architecture diagrams, functional failure analysis, test case mapping, and issue resolution for powerpacks. Additionally, you will serve as the subject matter expert for physical base solutions within core systems, particularly in aftertreatment and gas path systems for Diesel and Gasoline applications. The role requires strong knowledge in Internal Combustion Engines (ICE), transmission systems, high-voltage electrification systems (MHEV/PHEV), torque management, energy arbitration, aftertreatment, pollutant emissions, and their regulatory requirements in various markets. You will be expected to lead technical reviews, analyze complex data from CAE and physical tests, and develop methods for future technologies. This will involve working collaboratively with design teams to optimize solutions while considering various attributes, constraints, and deadlines, all within an agile framework. Your work will contribute to ongoing product development projects, providing you with the opportunity to influence cutting-edge innovations in the automotive industry.
