The Ground Segment Systems Engineer role at Holt Executive Ltd is a highly technical position based in Oxfordshire, UK, offering hybrid working and a salary range of £40,000–£85,000 per year. In this role, the engineer will be involved in the full lifecycle of ground segment development for space missions, including conceptual design, system development, integration, testing, validation, maintenance, and operational support. The position focuses on building and supporting mission-critical ground systems such as Mission Control Systems, Mission Planning tools, and Ground Station Interface Systems, while working closely with Mission, Systems, and Operations teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient space operations. Responsibilities include requirements engineering, acting as a technical interface with suppliers, supporting internal development teams, following Agile/SCRUM methodologies, producing high-quality technical documentation, conducting verification and simulation campaigns, and supporting live mission operations and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant engineering field, at least three years of experience in ground systems engineering, strong knowledge of space mission processes, and familiarity with tools and technologies such as SCOS-2000, Linux, C++/Java, and scripting.
