Nu Quantum is seeking a Head of Control Systems to lead and drive the development of scalable quantum networking hardware, managing a multidisciplinary team of Control, Software, and Electronics Engineers while contributing to the company’s technical strategy and roadmap. The role involves planning, budgeting, resource allocation including hiring, overseeing system design, integration, testing, deployment, and ensuring control solutions evolve alongside advances in quantum hardware. The candidate will provide day-to-day leadership, mentorship, and professional development, collaborating with other department heads, architects, and senior management to align technical goals and company culture. Applicants should have an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related discipline, with proven experience leading technical teams in hardware development, control systems, embedded systems, FPGA development, high-speed data acquisition, and real-time control systems. Strong leadership, communication, project management, and stakeholder management skills are essential, with a collaborative mindset and ability to manage complex technical systems. Desirable experience includes working in quantum technologies, advanced instrumentation, high-reliability laboratory or industrial environments, and scaling high-performance engineering teams.
