Nu Quantum, a pioneering company in quantum computing and advanced technology based in Cambridge, UK, is seeking a Head of Quantum Hardware to lead the development of its full-stack quantum networking systems. This full-time, permanent role offers visa sponsorship and involves directing and overseeing the Quantum Hardware department, working closely with the VP of Technology, Head of Engineering and Operations, and Programme Manager to coordinate project-based group leads across quantum error correction and AMO experimental and theory teams. The ideal candidate will possess a postgraduate qualification in experimental physics related to quantum computing or simulation, have a strong track record in team leadership and technical delivery, and demonstrate expertise in qubit control, quantum optics, electronics, and control systems. Responsibilities include strategic planning, budgeting, resource allocation, system architecture, documentation, and technical decision-making, while fostering a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive environment. The role also requires excellent communication, mentoring, and problem-solving skills, and includes representing Nu Quantum at industry and research events. Prior industry experience or familiarity with quantum error correction is a plus.
