The Head of Quantum Hardware will oversee the development of quantum hardware, working closely with the VP Technology, Head of Engineering and Operations, and project-based Group Leads to deliver full-stack quantum networking systems. Responsibilities include managing discipline leads, planning, budgeting, hiring, making technical decisions, supporting system architecture, ensuring robust workflows, and producing high-quality documentation while fostering innovation and collaboration. The role requires a postgraduate qualification in experimental physics related to quantum computing or simulation, leadership experience in technical delivery, and expertise in qubit control, quantum optics, and optics. Strong problem-solving, mentoring, communication, and record-keeping skills are essential, with industry experience and expertise in quantum error correction or electronics considered advantageous.
