Techmunity is seeking a Lead/Senior Machine Learning Engineer to build the “learning brain,” an adaptive system predicting student knowledge, next lessons, and concept difficulty using text and voice data. The role involves owning the ML system end-to-end, from data pipelines, training, and evaluation to deployment, primarily using Python and PyTorch, while evolving text-based models toward voice-aware, real-time learning. Responsibilities include designing and shipping models for knowledge inference and lesson orchestration, building scalable pipelines that learn from live user data, driving offline-to-online-to-real-time adaptation, and collaborating with product and engineering teams to embed ML into the learner experience. Candidates should have production experience in ML (NLP, recommendation, personalisation, or applied LLMs), thrive in small teams with ownership and iteration speed, and focus on measurement and model quality. This fully onsite London role offers £130,000–170,000 plus equity, visa sponsorship, and relocation support, with the potential to grow into leading a small ML group within 6–12 months.
