As a Machine Vision Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the creation and development of machine vision systems including cameras, lighting, optics, and software based on customer requirements, optimizing system performance for speed, accuracy, and robustness to meet the demands of high-speed industrial environments, and delivering compliant machine vision control systems. The role involves supporting commissioning activities at customer sites, producing project documentation such as FDS, SDS, FAT protocols, and risk assessments, and providing ongoing technical support. Candidates should have an HND/Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Software Engineering, the ability to interpret electrical schematics, experience in developing algorithms and using specialized hardware for real-time image processing, and knowledge of Cognex Vpro, Insight, and Keyence systems. Experience in defect detection at high production rates, delivering complete vision packages, utilizing AI and machine learning techniques, automation and production machinery design, and knowledge of British and international standards is highly valued. The position requires willingness to travel nationally and internationally, strong interpersonal skills, and a proactive, can-do attitude.
