The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to join the Mechanical, Metrology, and Technical Engineering Group at its Daresbury Laboratory. The role involves working on high-profile scientific projects such as CERN LHC, PiPII, CLARA, and the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE). Responsibilities include hands-on mechanical work, manufacturing, and assembly of scientific equipment, along with applying knowledge in vacuum technology, cryogenics, and cleanroom environments. Candidates should have a recognized Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent experience, practical mechanical skills, and competence in working with precision tools and procedures. Desirable qualifications include ONC or higher, ISO9001 experience, IPC hand-soldering certification, and safety training.
