This role is a full-time 4-year Postdoctoral Fellow position in the Sensory Circuits and Neurotechnology Lab at the Francis Crick Institute, focusing on advanced X-ray tomography and computational image reconstruction for large-scale connectomics. The fellow will work in close collaboration with Northwestern University and the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) to improve X-ray imaging resolution and develop parallelized computer models for simulating coherent wave propagation through complex materials. Responsibilities include leading an independent research project, advancing coherent X-ray volume imaging methods, integrating new algorithms into reconstruction pipelines, preparing beamtime proposals, collaborating with synchrotron teams, contributing to software/data repositories, supporting lab research, and mentoring PhD students. Candidates must have a PhD in physics, electrical engineering, computer science, or related fields, with expertise or interest in image reconstruction, strong publication history, experience presenting scientific data, and commitment to open-source development.
