Liverpool City Council is seeking a Principal Engineer – Urban Traffic Control to support the UTC Team Leader and lead the UTC team, playing a key role in keeping the city moving through the management, maintenance, and programming of traffic signal controls across Liverpool. The ideal candidate will possess an engineering qualification or significant experience in designing, installing, commissioning, and managing citywide traffic signal systems, as well as in delivering highway improvement, ITS, or related engineering projects. The role involves leading a team, motivating staff, managing projects, and liaising with stakeholders to ensure efficient operations, compliance, and continuous improvement.
