Nu Quantum Ltd is actively seeking a full-time, permanent Product Manager to join its dynamic team in Cambridge, UK, with visa sponsorship available. As a core member of the company’s quantum networking division, this role focuses on managing and driving forward the development of the Quantum Networking Unit (QNU) products—specifically the quantum-optical ‘Dynamic Entangler’ platform that includes low-loss optical switching and high-performance single-photon detectors designed for entanglement distribution. This position plays a critical role in shaping the future of datacenter-scale entanglement distribution solutions and supports Nu Quantum’s broader vision of building scalable, fault-tolerant quantum computing systems. You will work closely with internal teams across quantum optics, control systems, photonics, electronics, mechanical engineering, and software to ensure technical deliverables meet ambitious commercial targets. Responsibilities include creating and managing detailed product roadmaps, aligning technical developments with market demands, engaging with internal scientists to integrate theory into hardware, analysing competitive landscapes, identifying new collaborators or customers, and supporting supplier and stakeholder relationships. Additionally, the role involves helping define and execute product launch strategies in collaboration with the marketing and communications team, translating complex technical concepts into clear and engaging messaging. Candidates should hold a degree or postgraduate qualification in physics, optics, materials science, or engineering, and demonstrate a solid understanding of quantum technologies. The ideal applicant will be proactive, collaborative, empathetic, and curious, with strong leadership potential and excellent communication skills. Experience in quantum optical experiments, photonics or PIC technology, commercial product development, or customer engagement is highly desirable. Nu Quantum offers generous benefits including flexible work options, private medical and dental coverage, gym membership, sabbatical leave, paid family leave, and access to the Cambridge Botanical Gardens, in an inclusive environment that encourages applicants from all backgrounds and underrepresented communities. This is a rare opportunity to join a cutting-edge quantum company and contribute meaningfully to the development of technologies that will shape the future of information systems worldwide.
