The successful candidate will work within the GE Aerospace Wales Engineering team in a Support Engineer capacity. This office-based role requires spending a large percentage of time on the shop floor, working closely with maintenance technicians. The role covers a broad range of activities, from providing day-to-day technical support to maintenance technicians to working on long-term engineering projects aimed at reducing maintenance costs and improving Engine/component Turnaround Time (TAT) using lean principles. The position provides exposure to hardware from GE90 and CFM56 product lines and requires effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to achieve results. The successful candidate will be responsible for compiling technical documentation, supporting engine and component maintenance, and creating local policies to meet regulatory requirements and standard operating procedures. Additionally, they will be involved in vetting engine manuals, Service Bulletins, and other OEM/customer data, as well as implementing digitization of engineering processes. This role will also require a high level of cross-functional teamwork with departments outside of Engineering, such as operations, planning, quality, sourcing, and EH&S. The position involves shift work, including days, afternoons, and one weekend every three weeks.
