The University of Glasgow is recruiting a Research Assistant to support an interdisciplinary artificial intelligence (AI) for cancer project that aims to develop novel computational methods using deep learning models for proteins and genomes to predict the clinical impacts of mutations in cancer. Based in the School of Cancer Sciences and working with Dr. Ke Yuan, Professor David Chang, and a multi-disciplinary research team in collaboration with the Cancer Research UK Scotland Institute, the post holder will conduct research, analyse and interpret data, maintain records, draft reports and publications, present findings at national and international conferences, and contribute to funding proposals. The role also involves mentoring students, supporting teaching activities, collaborating across departments, and enhancing the university’s research profile. Applicants should have strong programming skills in Python, experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch, and knowledge of omics or clinical data analysis. This is a full-time post, offered for up to 12 months, with a salary at Grade 6 (£33,951 - £37,694 per annum).
