The University of Glasgow seeks a Research Assistant/Associate to contribute to R&D of time-domain fNIRS for functional brain activity measurement, performing data acquisition with healthy volunteers, large dataset collection, and AI/data analysis. The role spans neuroscience, photonics, and AI, including entrepreneurial aspects and potential company spinouts. Duties include planning and conducting research, documenting outputs, publishing in high-quality journals, presenting at conferences, assisting with funding proposals, supervising students, and performing modest teaching tasks. Candidates require an Honours degree (Grade 6) or PhD (Grade 7) with hands-on experience in AI, brain imaging (fNIRS preferred), data analysis, neuroscience experimental design, excellent communication, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and emerging research track record. This full-time, fixed-term 12-month role may be eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.
