The University of Leeds is inviting applications for the position of Research Fellow in Biomechanics of Human Movement within the Faculty of Biological Sciences. This full-time, fixed-term role focuses on advanced research into human gait mechanics, funded by the Niall Community Fund, with the goal of developing a home-based gait rehabilitation device for individuals with spinal cord injuries. The successful candidate will conduct literature reviews, collect and analyse cross-sectional data using AI techniques, and contribute to refining the rehabilitation device’s design and performance. Applicants should hold a PhD (or be near completion) in Sport and Exercise Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, with strong expertise in 3D kinematic data, surface electromyography, and force platform data analysis. The position is based at the Leeds main campus and offers flexible working options. Visa sponsorship is available under both the Skilled Worker and Global Talent visa routes.
