Botz Innovation is hiring a Scientist specialising in Soft Robotics and Smart Textiles to develop next-generation wearable robotic systems in London, UK. This role focuses on research, prototyping, and integration of textile-embedded actuation and sensing systems, including smart materials, compliant actuators, and embedded sensors such as strain, pressure, EMG, and IMU. The scientist will design and iterate multilayer textile prototypes, collaborate with mechanical, electronics, and software teams, and support closed-loop wearable systems from sensing to actuation. Responsibilities also include biomechanics testing, human-body trials, validation, documentation, and contributing to long-term technical roadmaps as part of an early founding team. The role requires a PhD or equivalent industry R&D experience in robotics, textiles, materials, or related fields, strong hands-on smart textile fabrication skills, and experience with soft actuators.
