As a Senior CAD Technician at Orbex, you will provide essential design and drafting support across multiple engineering teams, including flight structures, propulsion systems, and ground support equipment. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers to produce high-quality 3D models and technical drawings, supporting the design, development, and manufacture of advanced launch vehicle systems. Your responsibilities will include developing accurate and detailed 3D models of components and assemblies, managing large and complex assemblies within the PDM system, generating 2D technical drawings, ensuring compliance with Orbex manufacturing standards, and assisting in maintaining BOMs and mass tracking documentation. To qualify, you should have an HNC/HND in aerospace or mechanical engineering or a relevant apprenticeship, proficiency in CAD software such as SOLIDWORKS, CATIA, or NX, and experience with file management systems like PDM or TeamCentre. Strong problem-solving skills, teamwork, and attention to detail are essential. Additional desirable experience includes knowledge of BS 8888 technical drawing standards, GD&T, composite materials, and aerospace manufacturing processes.
