Flux Computing designs and manufactures optical processors to train and run inference on large AI models. The company seeks a Senior Compiler Engineer to build the ML backend (compiler, runtime, and debugger) for next-generation OPTUs connecting PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, and MXNet to low-level kernel drivers. This role involves designing and implementing compilers, optimizing performance using advanced techniques like layout, fusion, scheduling, and tiling, mentoring team members, and staying ahead of trends in GPU, AI accelerator, and optical computing technologies. Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in C/C++ programming, deep expertise in ML framework internals, compilers, and optimization, and practical experience with toolchains such as LLVM, OpenXLA/XLA, MLIR, and TVM. The position offers £174K–£234K per year, equity options, £24K bonus, full relocation support, visa sponsorship, BUPA healthcare, 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, and a vibrant work culture in King’s Cross, London’s AI hub.
