Caterpillar is seeking a Senior Design Engineer – Hydraulic Systems to join its engineering team in Peterlee, United Kingdom, where you will play a key role in designing and developing advanced hydraulic systems for off-road articulated trucks used in construction and mining applications. In this full-time, on-site role, you will be responsible for translating machine application needs into complete hydraulic system designs, selecting and specifying components such as valves, pumps, cylinders, and motors, and validating designs through simulation tools and physical testing. You will work closely with global cross-functional teams including drivetrain, cooling, installation, and performance & controls to deliver integrated, reliable, and cost-effective solutions, while also collaborating with suppliers and supporting quality improvements, aftermarket growth, and factory enhancements.
