Based in Dundee, Scotland, with relocation assistance and visa sponsorship available, this role is ideal for experienced professionals in the field of industrial automation and machine control. In this position, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing PLC control systems and automation software for special-purpose machinery. You will ensure compliance with international standards (ISO, IEC, CE), and be hands-on with programming and commissioning industrial robots like KUKA, Fanuc, and ABB. The role also involves rigorous testing and validation, both in-house and at client sites, ensuring that all systems perform optimally. As a senior engineer, you will lead automation project delivery—collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet timelines, budget targets, and customer expectations. Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in automation and controls engineering, with a solid understanding of Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLCs, robotics, motion control, HMIs, and vision systems. A practical, hands-on approach to engineering from concept through to commissioning is essential. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and client-facing skills, a commercial mindset, and the flexibility to travel nationally and internationally for short project stints. The company offers a highly competitive salary package of £60,000 – £80,000 per year, plus benefits such as profit sharing, overtime pay, life cover, income protection, and expense coverage.
