Kernel is an AI-native data platform that empowers enterprise RevOps teams to clean, enrich, and manage CRM data at scale, and the Senior Software Engineer role drives the build-out of its core back-end infrastructure. In this position, you will own and scale systems on AWS using Node.js, TypeScript, Postgres, and workflow automation via n8n, architecting services that handle millions of accounts and terabytes of data. You will design and implement data pipelines and reliable services for enterprise users, rapidly ship features, constantly improve infrastructure, and automate manual processes to increase velocity and reliability. You'll partner with product and solutions engineering to transform business logic into safe, mass-action workflows for customers’ CRMs while establishing strong observability, monitoring, and reliability practices. We’re looking for someone with 6+ years of software engineering experience, deep backend expertise, and experience operating in small, fast-moving startups with shifting priorities. Familiarity with Kubernetes and working with large-scale data is essential; experience in AI-driven or data-heavy products and some front-end knowledge is a plus. This role requires at least 3 days/week in our London office (hybrid), and since Kernel is still early-stage, you’ll have significant autonomy and responsibility to shape infrastructure from the ground up. The compensation is £120K–£200K plus equity, and Kernel also supports visa sponsorship and relocation for exceptional candidates.
