This is a permanent, full-time hybrid role based in Cambridge, UK, with a salary range of £65,300 to £87,350. As a Senior Solutions Engineer (DevOps – Core Solutions) at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping the future of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) within the Core Solutions team. The role blends technical expertise with strategic influence, involving mentoring a globally distributed team, overseeing software infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, observability solutions, and tooling to ensure scalable, reliable, and efficient code delivery. You will lead and coach the DevOps team, embed best practices across delivery streams, optimize cloud hosting and AWS usage with FinOps accountability, translate technical roadmaps into measurable business outcomes, and collaborate with stakeholders to align strategy and delivery. The position requires proven hands-on experience in CI/CD, infrastructure as code, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), monitoring, observability, security, and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). It also calls for strong stakeholder engagement skills, business acumen, and a track record of leading mission-critical teams.
