Cambridge University Press & Assessment is seeking a technically skilled Solutions Engineer for a full-time, permanent position based in Cambridge, with a hybrid work arrangement (2–3 days per week in the office). The role offers a competitive salary between £49,000 and £65,500 and involves translating high-level solution architecture into detailed technical specifications to guide development teams. Key responsibilities include deconstructing architectures into modular components, creating technical specifications and API contracts, aligning technical execution with business goals, supporting developers, and ensuring architectural, security, and performance standards. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams including product owners, architects, developers, QA, DevOps, and third-party technology suppliers. Essential qualifications include 5+ years of development experience, 2+ years in a technical lead role, strong programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, NodeJS, and React, as well as experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP and CI/CD tools.
