OLIX is seeking a Staff Optical Engineer to develop next-generation optical interconnect systems for AI data centers, including chip-to-chip, intra-tray, and rack-to-rack optical links. The role involves designing and optimizing high-bandwidth optical interconnects, co-packaged optics (CPO) architectures, fiber and integrated waveguide systems, and Planar Lightwave Circuits (PLC). The engineer will collaborate across optics, ASIC, mixed-signal, RF, DSP, and packaging teams to co-optimize modulation, laser integration, and driver/receiver architectures, balancing bandwidth, power, latency, thermal, and reliability constraints. The candidate will participate in system-level modeling, lab validation, and production ramp, ensuring design-for-manufacturing principles, yield, and reliability. This position requires strong experience in optical communications, high-speed transmit/receive architectures, photonic packaging, and hyperscale data center requirements.
